Albert Kesselring

Albert Kesselring zwany "uśmiechniętym Albertem" urodził się 30 listopada 1885 w Dolnej Frankonii w miasteczku Marktsteft. Niemiecki Feldmarszałek, Marszałek Polny Luftwaffe. Pochodził z rodziny dla, której honor miał ogromne znaczenie. Wstąpił do Armii Pruskiej, był w artylerii oraz w latach 1914-1918 pełnił honory adiutanta. Od 1938 dowódca I Floty Powietrznej. W 1939 brał udział w operacji Waserkante (bombardowania Warszawy).." W toku walk obronnych poległo w mieście 2 000 żołnierzy, a rany odniosło 15 000. Natomiast straty ludności cywilnej wyniosły: 10 000 zabitych i 50 000 rannych.." Z kolei Artykuł 27 konwencji haskiej IV (1907) mówi o budynkach świeckich, szpitalach czy muzeach. Ale te reguły wojny nie liczyły się dla niego. Później Kesselring robił dokładnie to samo we Francji oraz Anglii. Jego Flota walczyła także w ZSRR, a później we Włoszech. W 1947 roku został skazany na karę śmierci, karę jednak zamieniono na dożywocie. Wyszedł z więzienia w 1952 i już rok później został przewodniczącym Stahlhelmu (Związek Żołnierzy Frontowych). W wolnym czasie zajmował się pisaniem książek. Zmarł16 lipca 1960 roku w Bad Nauheim w Hesji.
